Future Projects
Amazima is planning several future projects to further our love and outreach to the Ugandan people and children.
Garden and Livestock: On Amazima-owned land, we plan to cultivate a community garden to teach the Ugandan people how to plant and grow crops. The skills they learn as farmers will serve not only to feed their families but also to sell produce as an income. Additionally we are researching the possibility of farm animals and other livestock on this property, both for community education and as a way to produce milk, breed, gain eggs, and serve as an income for the people.
Community Outreach and Classes: We intend to host free adult classes for the community of Jinja at our new chapel and on our property. Teaching Bible studies, English, agriculture and more, our hope is to serve the Ugandan people and care for them in Jesus' name.
Masese Preschool and Sponsorship: This initiative is already underway. Amazima recently started a preschool in Masese that cares for around 50 children under the age of 6. These children are being given a jump start to learning as their natural curiosity is encouraged. Additionally, all our preschoolers are fed a nutritious meal at school, helping them develop physically in the early years. Amazima also welcomed 30 new Karimojong children into our sponsorship program in February 2011. We're thrilled to see these children given the opportunity to go to school, learn about Jesus, and find their potential as children of God.
Amazima School: Currently in the research stage, Amazima's Executive Director, Katie Davis, dreams of one day founding and operating an Amazima Christian school to serve impoverished children. With more control over curriculum, expectations, class sizes, and Christian culture, we long to educate hundreds of beautiful children in the name of Jesus.
